Opinion 136 The evolution of ethical issues relating to consent in healthcare
The concept of consent has evolved in recent years as a result of new situations created by advances in medicine and technology, and by care and social workers having to deal with new forms of vulnerability. New ethical questions need to be asked, and fresh thinking needs to be undertaken. This is the purpose of the CCNE's Opinion 136 "The evolution of ethical issues relating to consent in health care", which focuses on vulnerable persons.
